Belpile undertook design and construction of some 657 piles across 12 structures for the new CPG2 plant. Numerous design challenges were addressed and overcome including variable residual soil (lateritic) conditions, static and dynamic structure loading, soil downdrag loads, long terms consolidation and group effects. Belpile undertook design verification through 3 No static load tests and 9 dynamic tests, as well as a rigorous soils investigation program. The project involved working in an operating mine site environment with on site batching facility. This required diligent management of Quality, Health and Safety, whilst interfacing with the mine operating personnel.
The ability of the Belpile design team to deliver foundation solutions quickly and efficiently with the client engineering team was key to successful project delivery. Belpile delivered the project safely, ahead of schedule, and on budget. The end client has engaged Belpile for further works at other sites based on our performance.
A few words from the Project Manager:
“Belpile have successfully delivered their scope for the CGP2 project. The team on the ground was well supported by the technical and management team in Perth and Belpile demonstrated a clear focus on safety and quality. Their positive culture and attitude of teamwork and collaboration to resolve issues and challenges on the project made them a pleasure to work with”
