Belpile is a proudly Australian, privately owned, piling contractor that was established in 1987 in Queensland. In 1994 operations commenced in Perth, Western Australia, where the business now has its head office which is the centre of operations. Since commencement, Belpile has safely and successfully completed over 1100 piling projects around Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, NSW and Victoria. In 2017 Belpile established a second office in South Australia and have since completed a number of both limited access and conventional CFA projects. Belpile have provided cost effective foundation and ground retention solutions across several markets, including small to large residential buildings, medium to high rise commercial structures and public and industrial infrastructure. We have a modern fleet of conventional and limited access piling machines equipped with the latest in automated monitoring technology.
Belpile are an engineering oriented piling contractor driven by the quality and performance of our work. We currently have a dedicated team of in-house geotechnical engineers who frequently provide innovative, cost effective, foundation and retention solutions for our customers. Our design expertise is backed up through an extensive library of static load testing and a comprehensive understanding of geotechnical conditions/problems. Belpile are active participants in the technical community for piling and deep foundations, presenting regularly at conferences across Australia and assisting with a range of research and development projects undertaken in co-operation with the University of Western Australia.
Peter founded Belpile and has over 50 years’ experience in the drilling and piling industry. He was at the forefront of development of Belpile’s patented enlarged based piling system. Peter remains involved with Belpile’s overall management, as well as research and development.
Stuart is a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with over 30 years of industry experience, having worked as a geotechnical design consultant in various capacities and roles before full time involvement with the family business. He studied at both the University of Queensland and UWA, with his Master’s Degree focussing on the uplift capacity of enlarged based piles. He speaks annually at piling/foundation conferences around Australia on topics relating to foundation design and basement construction. Stuart manages both the engineering team and commercial aspects of the business.
Tom holds a dual Engineering/Commerce degree from UWA. In addition to achieving Honours during undergraduate studies, he has also completed a Master’s Degree which involved research and back analysis of instrumented pile testing. Tom has 8 years industry experience and is a member of Engineers Australia, Concrete Institute of Australia and Australian Geomechanics Society. Tom plays a key role in financial management and is a Senior Design/Site Engineer.
Colin is a Geotechnical Engineer with an Honours Degree from UWA, where he also completed a thesis that focussed on the capacity of Belpile foundations in Perth soils. Colin has spent the past 12 years working across both consulting and contracting environments, focussing predominantly on piling. He is a Chartered Engineer (CPEng), member of Engineers Australia and Australian Geomechanics. Colin currently manages the South Australian/East Coast business development and is a Senior Design Engineer/Estimator.
Julia is an Honours Graduate with a dual Engineering/Commerce degree from UWA, and has been with Belpile since 2015. She manages site engineering, procurement, quality assurance and health and safety on a day-to-day basis. Julia is also a proficient Design Engineer and assists with project financial and contract management.
Barry has 35 years experience as a geotechnical practitioner and academic. He has been consulting to Belpile for the past 15 years and is frequently involved in review, optimisation and certification of our designs. Barry has a longstanding presence in the piling and deep foundation industry in Australia and worldwide, through both consulting and contractor forums. He has been involved in most of the research undertaken on Belpile products with numerous publications/presentations circulated within the geotechnical community.
Louise undertakes the role of office administration and accounts and has been with Belpile since 2013. Her background is predominantly in accounts and bookkeeping, however at Belpile she is also involved with human resources and all facets of the business’ administration.
Ben has been working in the piling industry for over 25 years in both operator and supervisory roles. As Operations Manager, Ben oversees plant, personnel and all other logistics associated with successfully and safely delivering small to large piling projects.
